Director, Supply Chain Digital Development

Job Description:

The Product and Technology Director, Supply Chain Digital Development will drive a world class IT organization, leveraging digital and agile methodologies to partner with the business to enable capabilities that directly affect customer experience and extend the T-Mobile brand promise. This role will oversee 4-6 direct reports and initially a small internal team and a large managed service team, and will grow the internal capabilities over time. The role will engage directly with the business and influence both the what' and the how' of T-Mobile's business priorities. The director will influence $20-$30M of indirect capital spend and directly influence $25-$30M of capital spend, as well as overseeing a multi-million dollar opex budget.

  • Engage the business to understand and participate in setting priority for capability enablement
  • Develop a roadmap for capabilities to be delivered to the business
  • Lead teams for delivery of high quality, timely software development services within budget developed with agile methodologies
  • Make technology choices to build digital capabilities to transform the T-Mobile supply chain operations and resultant customer experience
  • Partner with and eventually become responsible for operations of the tools and capabilities developed under this role's guidance
  • Lead and manage relationship with managed service partners to insure delivery of timely and high-quality services
  • Recommend and implement new technology directions in collaboration with other Product & Technology solution delivery teams
  • Ensure development teams are staffed with talent that is required to develop, deliver and manage systems required by the business to produce outstanding results
  • Foster a culture focused on innovation and data-driven, constant improvement of technology delivery processes, tools and methodologies with a focus on efficiency and automation


  • Broad experience in supply chain operations and technology delivery, ideally in a retail environment
  • Proven ability to develop successful strategies for leapfrog digital solutions to business challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in transformative situations; this is not a tread water' position
  • Demonstrated experience holding managed service partners to high levels of quality service delivery
  • Ability to communicate with business leaders in terms that are meaningful to them and which focus on business impact/outcomes
  • Strong leader who can effectively collaborate with business, internal technical, and managed service team leading through influence
  • Experience working in growth environments and a proven change agent
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a large and organizationally complex technology staff and collaborate productively with other parts of the organization
  • Ability to understand business needs through collaboration with Business Solution Directors who work directly with the business
  • Strong skills in negotiating service agreements with vendors
  • Exceptionally principled leader with direct experience operating secure and compliant platforms; direct experience with SOX control definition, operation and ownership highly desired
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, regardless of audience, medium, or forum
  • Decisive leader who can move business forward quickly while balancing time, cost, and quality
  • Agile; thrives in a fast-paced, constantly shifting environment
  • Collaborative, yet influential
  • Strong business acumen; incorporates overall objective in developing strategy and decisions
  • Has awareness of each team member's career goals; facilitates development discussions; provides challenging tasks and assignments to promote development
  • Minimum 5-7 years management/leadership of support and operational service teams
  • Overall technology experience, 10+ years
  • Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree or equivalent experience is a plus
