The Sr. Accountant, Fund Administration will be part of the Fund Investment Oversight team, which is responsible for the operational oversight and administration of 1940 Act Investment Products, including variable annuities and two-tier separate accounts. The team performs oversight of third-party service providers that perform fund accounting and custody services to various investment products. The team is also involved in supporting the CREF liaisons (to the Board of Directors), whose responsibility is to collaborate with internal business partners to monitor and ensure continued appropriateness of CREF’s corporate cost allocations. Additionally, this role often collaborates with the product team to support tactical and strategic initiatives for the products supported by Fund Administration.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Focus on process improvement and data building to support strategic priorities for the business.
Responsible for fund oversight responsibilities for 1940 Act Investment Products to ensure the accuracy of daily NAVs and downstream financial reporting.
Provide support to ancillary teams in Fund Administration to provide support for financial reporting, taxation and audits as necessary.
Prepares analysis and makes recommendations for tactical and strategic cost allocation solutions for CREF product initiatives.
Required to build strong partnerships and effectively network internally and across several teams within Nuveen, business units, and other areas to gain needed information, influence outcomes, resolve issues, and drive process and reporting enhancements within the organization.
Manage priorities in response to emerging and competing initiatives.
Ensure appropriate policy and procedure documentation is maintained in compliance with the Funds’ accounting policies.

Required Qualifications:
- 3 + years’ experience in Financial Services
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in Financial Services
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Masters’ Degree
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of mutual funds, including but not limited to fund accounting and general operations of 1940 Act products.
- Experience in leading or facilitating meetings
- Strong proficiency with Advanced Excel functions (formulas, vLookups, hLookups, macros, etc)
- Experience using Alteryx
- Very high attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
- Strong problem solving skills
Potential Salary: $95,000.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
