Senior Systems Analyst
The Info Systems Analyst designs information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's operating systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.

  • Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

  • Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.

  • Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.

  • Collaborates with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.

  • Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.

  • Educates end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training materials and conducting demos.

  • Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems.

    TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Business Information Analyst who will act as a Product Owner on an Agile Scrum team that supports the Immediate Annuity Products. This role will help identify customer requirements and various technological solutions and engages in IT projects, from development to testing.

    This position will be part of an Agile Release Train and will work with various stakeholders to understand operational and transactional issues and to develop solutions. In addition, will conduct business process analyses to identify key business issues, gaps, needs and effectively write user stories from vision and communicate to the development team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct business process analyses to identify key business issues, gaps, needs
    • Identify and address operational, financial and technological risks within the project
    • Recognize gaps between current situation and desired outcome and utilize appropriate resources to obtain information, consider options, document recommendations and partner with development teams to deliver appropriate solutions
    • Gather business requirements to support operational process improvements, product and client implementations
    • Gain extensive understanding of business processes and applications architecture to serve as a valuable resource for understanding what should be captured to ensure high quality requirements
    • Effectively write user stories from vision and ability to communicate to the development team
    • Defines and prioritizes the capability backlog based on prioritized business needs
    • Lead requirements walk-through sessions to gain consensus resulting and sign off to initiate development for technology related projects or the implementation of new or enhanced business processes
    • Work seamlessly with Project Manager, Scrum Master and Scrum team
    • Establishes success criteria and ensures delivery of business value
    • Analyze root cause issue, problem solve and provide key recommendations for process improvements
    • Resolve complex business problems (technical, product, service, process, operations, organizational) that affect multiple functions/disciplines and/or customers (internal/external) and develop innovative solutions
    • Work across a matrix environment to engage appropriate internal and external partners to assure successful analysis, option determination and tactical execution
    • Manage issues, risks, project work and deliverables
    • Ensure issue identification, understanding and buy-in of proposed solutions occurs from key operations, product and technology business partners
    • Effectively engage and partner with cross-functional teams to create and deliver solutions

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Business Analyst who has gathered requirements or documented processes
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Product Owner on an agile scrum team

    Preferred:

    • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with technology delivery teams
    • Experience performing analyses of business processes and workflows, and providing evaluations, benchmarks, and/or process improvement recommendations.
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Familiarity with Immediate Annuity Products
    • Experience working in a financial services industry
    • Agile SAFe Certification

    Potential Salary: $110,500.00 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
