Implements market risk analysis and participates in implementing risk management systems and processes to minimize market risk.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Implements routine research and evaluation of the investments organization, business activities, and market and derivatives risk; assists in monitoring risk management policies, procedures, limits, and guidelines.
- Assists in developing technology-based tools and performs data analysis to monitor, measure, and manage market and derivatives risks.
- Participates in monitoring market risk to ensure that they are within market and derivatives risk thresholds, limits, and constraints. Explains market and derivatives policies and processes to other departments.

Reporting to the Head of Investment Risk Analysis & Strategy, The Market Risk Associate will assist in building models on fundamental risk drivers of the primary asset classes to drive investment views and understand fundamental sources of risk and also assist in production of risk reports for the General Account and Enterprise.
Help in enterprise wide investment risk reporting to meet Fed regulations; Broader Portfolio reports; Asset class level reports
Help in risk reports review and data reconciliation
Help monitor and surveillance of investment risk limits;
Assist in developing for each asset class a view on fundamental risk drivers within an asset class;
Work across the various functions in Investment Risk Management to ensure that risk calculations and sensitivity analysis are based on reasonable, fundamentals oriented intuition.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
2 Years of experience in risk/investment management.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 Years of experience in risk/investment management field with an understanding of asset classes covered.
B.S. Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics or Scientific discipline.
Proficiency with VBA, SQL and Excel is highly desired.
R, or other statistical packages is a plus
Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to summarize and communicate complex information effectively in a non-technical manner for senior management.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
