The Developer II focuses on developing multiple types and categories of software including end-user applications and operating systems software, that provides a platform for running end user applications. While working independently with limited supervision, this job applies up-to-date information on the detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conducts requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics.

  • Consults with systems engineers and architects on developing IT standards for the business while facilitating the translation of client requirements into technical designs for large IT solutions.

  • Uses programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write the software code.

  • Models key business processes and critical paths while assessing the impact of technology on business processes.

  • Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolves activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements

  • Maintains records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.

  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.

    Required Skills 

    • 3 or more years of experience in IT Software Development and/or Engineering 
    • Java and REST Web services experience
    • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodology
    • Apache Camel , JMS/MQ, SQL , Oracle DB, Spring, Tomcat,  Junit test or similar
    • CI/CD tools

    Preferred Skills 

    • Strong communications skills 
    • Preferred degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering 
    • DevOps: Gradle, Jenkins, ElectricFlow, Splunk, Openshift Cloud Platform (AWS)
    • Domain knowledge of financial services 
    • GraphQL,  Message brokers – Rabbit MQ , Kafka
    • Experience with BPMN /Orchestration engines

    Potential Salary: $98,000.00 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
