Supports the development and continuous improvement of the quality management system.
- Generating reports for distribution to various users in the organization, customers, or suppliers.
- Participating in supplier quality improvement initiatives; working with suppliers to develop and improve incoming quality levels.

- Business Process Improvement: Suggests ways to reduce variation and/or waste in processes. Participates in requirements analysis for process changes. - Quality Management: Develops expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards. Interprets results of quantitative and statistical tools and explains results to others. Develops quality assurance processes based on Six Sigma, ISO 9000 or Baldrige principles. Develops programs for motivating personnel to meet or exceed quality goals. Conducts and directs quality reviews. Communicates key benefits of a quality management process.

- Manufacturing Safety: Inspects manufacturing working environment to find safety violations within a specific area. Determines appropriate action to take when unsafe conditions are encountered. Utilizes personal protective equipment required or recommended for manufacturing staff. Conducts daily maintenance and keeps tracking logs on safety equipment. Responds to first aid and accident situations following standard procedures.
- Lean Manufacturing: Explains benchmarks and measures of effectiveness of lean. Finds solution for key technical and people problems associated with transformation to lean. Explains issues and considerations of implementing lean in own function or area. Discusses considerations for work cell design and effectiveness monitoring. Selects and utilizes tools, techniques and measurements associated with a lean assessment.
- Gemba Kaizen/Continuous Improvement: Helps innovate ideas to meet requirements and increase productivity. Maintains and continuously improves operations standards. Works to standardize operations and activities. Measures standardized operations; finds cycle times and amounts of in-process inventory. Gauges measurements against requirements.
- Cause and Effect Diagram (Ishikawa or Fishbone): Participates in developing an operational definition of 'cause' and 'effect' to ensure that each is clearly understood. Follows established procedures to prioritize verifiable causes related to manufacturing manpower, methods, materials and machinery. Examines fishbone to avoid the overlapping of causes. Analyzes each category (Manpower, methods, measurement, machinery, materials, mother nature) to determine the probability of a cause. Uses Mini-tabs to create cause and effect diagrams, under guidance.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Extrapolates lessons to be learned to promote the achievement of better consequences. Pinpoints behaviors, actions, inaction, or conditions that need to be changed. Locates factors that resulted in harmful outcomes of one or more past events. Utilizes RCA techniques, such as Flowchart, Fish-bone Diagram, etc., to investigate basic problems, determine the causes, and find resolutions. Practices RCA as an iterative process.
- Manufacturing Equipment: Uses standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolves common problems. Participates in setting up new machines and testing according to manufacturer's specifications. Conducts routine inspections; checks machine performance and equipment safeguards; reports standards violations. Performs routine maintenance: cleaning, replacing defective or worn parts. Performs basic care and safety considerations for a specific type of manufacturing equipment.
- Production Systems Operation: Collates tooling requirements and verifies computer and systems set-up for a specific run. Documents routine workflow, resource requirements, dependencies and criticalities. Documents common equipment and systems problems and provides associated resolutions. Supports and follows relevant practices and procedures for managing production flow. Operates a production line and associated systems involved in the production of deliverables.
