Internal Technical Operations Consultant

 The Europe IT Support team provides exceptional support across the business. We are looking for a passionate support specialist to join us in London. As ThoughtWorks is a forward thinking IT consultancy, you will be working with cutting edge technologies across Mac, Linux and Windows - with a primary focus on the Mac platform.

 Every day brings new challenges and there is lots of variety in the role as we are constantly looking to evolve and improve our IT infrastructure. This is a customer-facing role, working directly with our consultants, most of whom are working remotely.

 

We are seeking a proactive and responsive individual with a 'can-do attitude' and exceptional people skills. Flexibility is important as well as you might travel to other offices around the globe!

 Sometimes this job can be tough. ThoughtWorkers can be demanding customers, who can bring you some tough problems to fix. Daunted? Don’t be. You won’t be on your own - you’re joining a global team of TechOps specialists who’ll be able to help and support you - and help you to learn and grow into the role.

Our offices also serve as community hub: we regularly host events like meetups, hackathons and discussion panels. As our consultants travel a lot and come to the offices rarely, there is need for some remote support

This would be an ideal first role in IT - as either a first job, or for someone with a love of tech looking for an exciting career change.

 

You will be an individual seeking a varied and challenging role in IT Infrastructure / Support. You will ideally have a degree or similar in this field and any relevant experience would be highly valuable - perhaps you have some done 2nd line support, even if just for a short project or in an internship. A passion for technology, solving problems and delivering excellent customer service is a must. In addition to these super personal attributes, you will have knowledge of/be familiar with the following:

 

  • Mac OS X
  • MS Windows
  • Data security
  • Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP …)
  • VOIP and video conferencing experience
  • Vendor management
  • Hardware troubleshooting
