Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) is playing the core technology role in Thomson Reuters' Customer Experience Transformation programme. This visionary digital initiative is reimagining Thomson Reuters and our customers' interactions, creating a simple platform for a complex future.

This role is leading Delivery for EBS, encompassing Design, Build and Test for Thomson Reuters business systems globally, covering Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, HR and other non-Product functions. The successful candidate will develop Delivery capabilities that enable us to deliver at a pace consistent with business expectation. The role is at the heart of ET&O's strategy to pivot technology development towards external System Integrators.

Other duties to include:

Delivery of programs and projects as per agreed scope, budget, timeliness and quality metrics. Delivery of Security and OpenSource commitment and governance of partner costs. Selection and day to day management of EBS Delivery partners, and improving efficiency and value obtained. Overall relationship, contract effectiveness, and governance of all EBS Delivery partners alongside PMO community development.

Accountable for ensuring the Programs deliver the expected commercial results from the Application Development portfolio. Also responsible for tighter Dependency management and increased throughput required to deliver on the Customer Experience transformation.

Scope and Impact

Sets and manages budgets, resource requirements and return on investment for high impact projects or programs. Responsible for the IT development portfolio of circa $130m. Manages all resources associated with development initiatives in the site(s), including 3rd party suppliers and strategic acquisitions. Leads projects with high visibility and significant risk to achieve corporate or division-wide milestones and objectives. Provides leadership and direction through Directors. Directs and controls the performance and talent activities of multiple functional areas, product groups and/or service areas through managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas. Grows organization talent through recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing strategies for above.

Key Partnerships

Business Relationships & Planning: to ensure demand delivers quality artifacts for effective "Delivery Execution".

Enterprise Architecture: Ensure architecture is sustained for effective "Delivery Execution".

Service Operations: Environments, release, transition, to ensure the dependencies with environments, release windows are managed effectively and appropriate controls in place for smooth transition to Service Operations.

External Vendors: support project/technology roadmap development, service delivery and operations goals.

Technical / Professional Skills & Competencies

Proven experience using formal software engineering tools and methodologies, including design, development, testing, etc. Articulates technical and non-technical information effectively to multiple audiences and levels. Ability to build and manage financial plans to meet organizational objectives.

Ability to stand-alone and drive difficult decisions. Appreciates and drives change in the organization as well as the impacts and consequences of those changes. Able to inspire and influence broadly throughout the organization.

Advanced technical knowledge and ability, usually obtained through working in varied and challenging development roles. Defines and leads projects across boundaries based upon organizational goals. Experience creating a compelling vision and strategies, communicating to create engagement and drive business results, change, and optimizing organizational structure. Most likely the successful candidate will have had experience working as a senior Client or Delivery Executive at a major Systems Integrator.
