We are looking for an experienced English-to-Japanese translator for our Japan-language translation desk in Toronto. The desk forms an important part of Reuters' 24-hour Japanese news translation service including Japanese-language Online news packaging. A successful candidate must have excellent translation skills and be knowledgeable about world financial markets, industries and macro economy. He or she must be a good communicator and teamwork player who can facilitate the translation operation.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Excellent English-to-Japanese translating skills on various news subjects, especially global financial/business news.
- At least two years of experience as professional translator on economic and financial issues.
- Solid knowledge of financial markets, corporate activities and the world economy.
- Good team player with excellent communication skills.
- Strong commitment to beating the competition.
- Skills and experience about Online news packaging is preferable.
