Transfer Pricing Economist/Sr. Economist

Job Description

Based on the experience level of the candidate, this position can reflect the responsibilities of a Transfer Pricing Economist or Sr. Economist. The Transfer Pricing Economist will work with the transfer pricing group in Hoboken, NJ responsible for preparing transfer pricing documentation studies using ONESOURCE Transfer Pricing software on an outsourcing basis for clients.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Support all aspects of transfer pricing engagements including fact gathering, economic analysis, project management support and implementation of documentation and analyses within Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Transfer Pricing Documenter;

Develop or support internal initiatives such as internal technical trainings, presentation to Sales team, and market facing sales enablement tools, such as topical webcasts, thought leadership white papers, and acting as a technical resource for marketing or product support;

Represent the economist team as a collaborative partner with all vertical teams of the ONESOURCE Transfer Pricing team including Sales, marketing, solution consulting and customer success.

Interact with Fortune 500 clients to answer technical and/or software questions and requesting data necessary to prepare transfer pricing studies;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization; initiate and maintain partnerships with staff and management; and

Proficiency in establishing client relationships and effectively managing existing relationships to build customer confidence.

Essential skills:

Three plus years of transfer pricing experience preferred and exposure to all specified transfer pricing methods (Comparable Uncontrolled Price, Comparable Uncontrolled Transactions, Comparable Profits Method/Transactional Net Margin Method, Cost Plus, Resale Price, Profit Split, Cost Sharing Arrangements).

Experience interacting (written and oral) directly with clients on transfer pricing or tax related projects

Proven ability to work within a deadline driven environment

Effectively manages expectations with team members

Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and resolve issues and can facilitate team decision making

Demonstrates effective presentation and public speaking skills

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of specific countries' international transfer pricing regulations preferred.

Practical knowledge and prior application of IRS transfer pricing regulations and OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines required.

Although this is not a technology position, candidates should be comfortable using software/technologies.


Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, finance, business, law or accounting
