Trading User Interface Development Manager


Thomson Reuters is the #1 portal for online foreign exchange trading, offering institutional customers foreign currency trade execution and straight through processing. We are seeking a highly technical development manager to lead the Trading GUI development and test teams. The objectives of this team include developing new Trading features, improving performance and stability of the system, and migration to a new strategic architecture.


Lead teams of developers and testers totaling approximately 30 people in multiple locations.

Rapidly acquire deep understanding of the FX Trading functionality.

Work with current technology management to develop new 3-tier architecture. Plan migration strategy.

Quickly analyze production problems and provide troubleshooting and support.

Develop comprehensive regression and unit test cases to make sure components are tested rigorously in an automated fashion.

Collaborate with the QA teams to define and implement rigorous performance, stability and scalability testing.

Work directly with product management to ensure the software fully meets new business requirements.

Collaborate with App Support teams to ensure the platform is supportable and operates robustly.

Required Skills

Experience working with high volume, high throughput, and low latency trading systems (e.g. equities or FX) while meeting the highest standards in resiliency and scalability.

5 years of experience as a development manager with teams of at least 10 people.

Java Swing and HTML5 development experience.

Familiar with Agile practices.


Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or other related degree.

5 years financial industry experience designing and implementing trading systems.

Foreign Exchange experience.
