Tax Specialist

This position supports the tax filing service account reconciliation process, tax payment and filing processes and the ACH transmission process as necessary. This position will interface between payroll processing operations and tax operations establishing controls that will produce high-quality information exchange, ensure accurate reporting and minimizing exposure. The position will also backup tax account setup functions as required.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Research discrepancies between the tax tracking system and the payroll processing system as necessary to ensure efficient and accurate payments and reporting on behalf of our clients at all times.
  • Manage the gap between payroll processing operations and tax operations by performing review and control tasks that will result in high-quality information exchange between the groups.
  • Assist with tax account setup functions such as data entry into tax tracking system, determination of tax obligations, power of attorney registrations with federal, state and local agencies, and payment/filing frequency requirements.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned by the department manager.

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 2-3 years payroll/payroll tax experience
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self directed and organized
  • Advanced PC knowledge - (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to adapt quickly within a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of Master Tax software a plus
  • Knowledge of Payroll CS a plus
