Thomson Reuters Technology team in Eagan, MN is looking for a highly-motivated, results-driven engineer who is passionate about developing the next-generation application to transform the legal industry. Our Technology team works in an innovative, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment, building large-scale systems and solutions for attorneys and customers in the Litigation and Transaction practice areas.

In this fun role, you will be responsible for implementing software components to meet our customer needs. You will also interact with other developers and our business owners to ensure the software implementation meets the agreed upon specification and architecture design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and modify software, with meaningful unit and integration tests.
  • Learn continuously, develop software using industry and company best practices.
  • Participate in iteration planning sessions to understand customer requirements, understand design options, and provide group-estimates for tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure software is built to meet our customers' needs.
  • Own and produce quality work timely.
  • Escalate issues or risks to your Team Lead.
  • Fully competent in most of the programming languages, software engineering methodologies, and software development tools our team uses:
  • Java, Groovy, jUnit, Spock, SQL, Elasticsearch
  • Angular2, ngrx, HTML5, JSON
  • AWS, UNIX/Shell, Jenkins, Gradle
  • IntelliJ, GIT, TFS
  • Aspose, JxBrowser
  • Understanding of best practices for cloud native, web development.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices.
  • A self-starter, motivated and results oriented individual with a successful track record
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with team members.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required. Computer Science degree preferred.
