Senior Tax Analyst

Reporting to the Senior Manager–State Tax, the Assistant Manager- State Tax will be accountable for the successful preparation of a wide array of state income tax matters, responsibilities will include:

Preparation of the state tax compliance process, including the filing of estimated payments, extensions and tax returns. Assist with the electronic filings of returns.

Prepare complex unitary, combined and separate company state returns.

Effectively use OneSource Software applications employed in the tax provision and return processes (OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Workflow Manager, OneSource State Apportionment and OneSource Estimate Payments a plus)

Must be comfortable with GL accounting, able to propose journal entries, and able to reconcile tax accounts as needed. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and implement knowledge in work assignments and tasks.

Prepare complex state tax schedules related to the state tax provision process, including effective tax rates, tax accruals, tax attributes, valuation allowances and payables account roll-forward balances.

Prepare tax schedules measuring impact of state tax legislation, court cases, and rulings affecting current taxes and effective tax rates.

Respond to state tax compliance notices and ensure that those items are researched and properly addressed in a timely manner.

Research state tax issues and planning.

Assist with acquisitions and dispositions as necessary.

Assist with selected state tax audits.

Assist in the coordination and completion of other state tax compliance projects as assigned.

Effective interaction with other assistant managers is imperative.

Minimum of five years of corporate state tax and/or public accounting experience

B.S. required, CPA and/or Masters in Taxation preferred

Excellent systems skills, OneSource Tax Compliance software preferred

Excellent Excel skills required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills required

Must work in a team-oriented environment
