Job Duties: Work on the design and implementation of FXall's Portfolio Order Management System (POMS) server component; and work directly with product management, quality assurance, client support, senior management and clients to drive the development of FXall's Relationship Trading Platform.

Duties include:

  1. Design, develop and integrate high performance system for currency portfolio trade order management using Java 1.8, concurrent and distributed programming techniques with emphasis on efficient, high-performance code.

  2. Utilize strong understanding of system analysis and design in multi-threaded applications and overcome challenges in multi-threaded development like deadlocks, race conditions, Synchronization and practical techniques for addressing them.

  3. Solve challenges in developing high-throughput, low-latency trading systems and Ongoing technical enhancements to the POMS system to increase throughput and reduce latency using Java Collections, Concurency, JDBC, SQL's, Jetty, JGroups, GigaSpaces, JMS, NIO/IO, TCP/IP, Multicast Networking, Native messaging, Eclipse, XML, Linux, Shell Scripting, Oracle 10g, GOF & EAI Design Patterns etc.

  4. Work to rapidly develop new products using Agile methodologies, quickly and accurately translate user requirements from traders into technical deliverables with minimal oversight.

  5. Collaborate with product managers and clients to implement features that improve the usefulness of the Portfolio OMS system using industry standard protocols like FIX4.2.

  6. Test the system thoroughly to reduce errors applying techniques like Test First, Test Driven and utilize JUnit, JMock, Fitnesse, JMeter, Jira etc.

  7. Use Build or process management tools like Maven, Hudson, Subversion, GIT etc.

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 5 years' experience as a Technical Lead, Software Engineer/Developer or similar role. Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently: 1) 5 years' experience designing and implementing trading system for a front-office/ e-Trading business. 2) 5 years' experience in one or more underlying product areas (FX, Equities, Fixed income, futures & options). 3) 5 years' experience working with CORE java with emphasis on efficient, high-performance code. 4) 5 years' experience in build/process management: such as Maven, CruiseControl, Subversion, or Kovair (or equivalent products). 5) 3 years' experience in order management, execution management, order workflow, and order types. 6) 1 year experience in System Interfaces: such as Socket programming, concurrent, and distributed programming in Java. 7) 1 year experience with system analysis and design in multi-threaded applications. 8) 1 year experience with Agile/rapid application development methodologies.
