Senior Research Analyst

Senior Evaluator (Consistent with Specialist / Reverse Engineer)

A Senior Evaluator at Thomson Reuters Pricing Service is responsible for providing timely and accurate end-of-day evaluations on fixed-income securities, preferred stocks, and derivatives. Evaluations are use by banks, brokerage houses, insurance companies, and asset managers for client statements, research, risk analysis, and portfolio value.

Senior evaluators price difficult and illiquid securities with various resources and tools. Resources include their own network of dealer contacts, trade prices, the new issue market, research reports, and market news. Tools include offering sheets, mathematical models, and bond pricing models. The core function of the senior evaluator is to use these resources and apply the appropriate market data and model to each issue.

A key function is the designing of pricing models. Pricing models incorporate market data, broker quotes, and trade prices. The senior evaluator will test and implement these pricing models to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Senior evaluators are also responsible for normal evaluator functions including the daily evaluations, timely responses to prices challenges, quality control, and monitoring market news. On a daily basis, they need to convey market direction and individual news events to help guide and train junior evaluators.
