Senior DevOps Engineer

Thomson Reuters Direct Tax is preparing to begin work on upgrading and improving the efficiencies of a number of our Tax compliance products and their CI/CD pipelines. Many of these projects were developed a number of years ago, therefore the technologies and methodologies used are outdated and will need to be overhauled and improved to better serve our internal and external customers. While the core architecture of these products will not be changed or improved at this time, all of the manual processes will have to be identified and inefficiencies will have to be rooted out and replaced with cutting edge automation services. This open position is for one software engineer with automation experience in various scripting languages and tools, that can come in here and independently analyze and implement automation of some of the day to day tasks being done to streamline various repetitive processes in the Tax compliance portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years' experience in a high-octane DevOps environment
  • Good understanding of Windows and Linux Administration
  • A hands-on coding skills and strong skills with scripting languages like Powershell, Python, Ansible, Perl
  • Prior development experience with Java, Javascript, NodeJS is a big plus
  • High level knowledge of SQL scripting and RDMS concepts is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban)
  • Experience in working with off-shore development teams
  • Solid architecture experience
  • Ability to work with leads to identify manual processes in legacy internal apps and recommend and implement automation strategies
  • Experience with TFS and Jira project management tools and implementation of best practices in Scrum tools and workflows
  • Experience in delivery of projects where products are deployed in a modern CI/CD environment with Jenkins
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • A self-starter that is able to collaborate actively with others in a cross-functional team
