Senior Database Administrator

Job Description

Required Skills - The candidate should possess excellent knowledge and at least 5 years DBA experience of Oracle Database Technologies, more specifically knowledge of Oracle 11g, Oracle 12c, Oracle RAC, Oracle RMAN, Oracle Streams, Golden Gate, Oracle Data Guard, ASM and Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g and 12c. - Support clustered database : Oracle Clusterware and Veritas. - Database Migration and Upgrade. - Database Backup and Recovery using RMAN and IBM Tivoli. - Database Performance Tuning. - The candidate should possess a working knowledge of Oracle Linux, Solaris and Microsoft Windows based Operating systems. - Complex Work Automations by using PL/SQL, UNIX Shell Script and perl. - Ability to multitask, and work under pressure with changing priorities is essential to this role. - Flexible attitude to weekend work is a must as individuals will be required to work at least one weekend each month (once fully trained). - Ability to build trust and credibility easily and quickly with remote teams. - Working proficiency in English. Able to communicate strongly via emails and teleconferences. Able to host the teleconference sessions with remote participants and maintain effective meeting minutes/actions. - Ability to follow standards and processes (such as change management) is a must for this role. - A logical and methodical approach to problem solving. Desired Skills - A background in a busy operational or service delivery environment would also be advantageous. - Ability to work with large groups / teams and individually with minimum supervision
