Marketing Director, Corporate Segment

We are looking to hire a passionate marketing leader with extensive background in B2B software/technology marketing.

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Marketing of Thomson Reuters' Tax & Accounting division (TRTA) the Marketing Director, will have end-to-end responsibility for meeting brand and lead generation goals for the Corporate Segment – which includes large Fortune 500 through mid-market customers.

We are looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit who is highly customer-driven, able to define a long-term strategy and also drive focused execution. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with high business acumen and significant experience leading marketing campaign development for a substantial global B2B software/technology and service business. Successful track record delivering on lead generation commitments by driving break-through marketing strategy leveraging a data-driven approach to forecasting and delivery against goals. The Marketing Director will combine a strong strategic marketing strength with a "hands on" approach that leads to world-class execution and results.

  • Lead strategic annual and tactical quarterly marketing planning to ensure robust plans are in place to meet marketing sourced pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Manage the full marketing mix, driving innovative campaigns and marketing initiatives for prospects and customers that generate profitable revenue growth and competitive differentiation.
  • Evolve and continue to extend marketing communications to create efficient, high impact campaigns, events, web presence, trade participation, customer communication and PR.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to accelerate the utilization of analytics and market research as well as customer and competitive analysis to increase the impact/return on investment of marketing efforts, along with informing overall go-to-market strategy. Transform data, observations and analysis into insights that drive strategy, plans and initiatives as well as accelerate the Corporate Segment's growth and profitability.
  • Work closely with Product Management to evolve product positioning and market messaging.
  • Drive go-to-market planning and campaign development to expand our footprint globally as we continually release new capabilities around the globe

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10 years of marketing experience in a large, global B2B software/technology or service business.
  • 5 experience in a large or matrixed organization.
  • Savvy, adept and comfortable in a complex structure involving corporate level relationships, multi-division / BU involvement and matrix reporting.
  • Proven leadership in driving lead generation and sales enablement campaigns that are aligned with sales goals and a track record of exceeding goals.
  • Strong understanding of ROI-oriented ecommerce marketing and digital marketing strategies
  • Disciplined ROI and metrics-based approach to marketing. A marketer who "owns-the-numbers" and aligns the marketing organization closely with a high-performance B2B enterprise sales team.
  • Experience marketing to the financial C-suite in large and mid-market corporations and/or to Managing Partner level leadership in professional consulting and advisory firms.
  • Experience building and executing co-marketing plans with alliance and/or channel partners, especially within the technology and financial ecosystems.
  • Strong intellect and analytical skills, including ability to translate business strategies into viable operational plans.
  • Excellent proven negotiation, complex problem solving, and conflict management skills.
  • Results oriented with strong time management skills, highly organized and driven to succeed.
  • Entrepreneurial approach, innovative, passionate, self-starter. Persistence despite obstacles or setbacks, comfort with ambiguity.
  • Flexibility in adjusting to new, different and changing business requirements and decisions.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills including influencing and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence at all levels within the organization and across all functions with a team oriented style.
  • Excellent presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and to encourage and support others to achieve their objectives.
  • Results oriented with strong time management skills, highly organized and driven to succeed.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with ERP vendors a plus.
