Legal Counsel - F&R

Job Description

This role sits within our Financial & Risk ("F&R") business. On January 30, 2018, Thomson Reuters announced that it signed a definitive agreement to enter into a strategic partnership with private equity funds managed by Blackstone related to the company's F&R business. As part of the transaction, Thomson Reuters has agreed to sell a 55% majority stake in Financial & Risk and will retain a 45% interest in the business. Thomson Reuters will maintain full ownership of its Legal, Tax & Accounting and the Reuters News businesses. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of the year and is subject to specified regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. When the transaction closes, the role will be included in the new F&R entity. Further information on this can be found at


  • Provision of day-to-day advising on various legal matters.
  • Execution of contractual work (drafting/revising/translating/negotiating).
  • Provision of legal support on Company corporate/registration issues.
  • Provision of legal support to Company participation in procurement tenders, i.e. reviewing of state procurement tender documentation.
  • Dealing with incoming requests of state authorities and third parties.
  • Handling/systematization of documentation workflow
  • Analysis of legislation updates and court practice, knowledge gathering work
  • Local reporting to Senior Legal Counsel

  • University degree in law.
  • 5-7 years of legal practice.
  • Strong knowledge of civil law, corporate law. Good understanding of business law, technology, IP & Personal data legislation will be an asset.
  • Prior tender support experience is an asset.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Extraordinary attention to details, hard-working.
  • Able to work as a team member and build a rapport and trust with both external and internal stakeholders. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
