Java/Scala Developer

Must Have:

  • 5 years of experience in Java or Scala programming
  • Excellent understanding of OO languages
  • A strong working knowledge of Java or Scala. If you do not already know Scala, you must have a strong desire to learn it
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adhere to development processes and deliver high quality code on time
  • Working knowledge of popular open-source Java/Scala frameworks, including Play, ElasticSearch, etc.

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with Hadoop/Spark
  • Working knowledge and experience with Linux
  • Experience and familiarity with functional languages and functional programming
  • Experience with DevOPS ecosystems (Docker, VMs, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience with build tools such as Maven, SBT
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum) software methodologies and continuous integration/deployment
  • Experience building high-traffic, scalable and high performance systems
