Immigration Reporter (Level 1 Journalist)

Job Description

Reuters is looking for a Houston-based Immigration Reporter to join its national immigration team who can travel far and wide along the border, on both the U.S. and Mexico side, to find underreported and original stories in a landscape well-trodden by other reporters. We want someone who can place stories from the region into a national and international political context and who can sift through hard data, produce source-based scoops and write compelling human interest stories that shed light on President Donald Trump's efforts to curb the flow of migrants over the southern U.S. border. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and will already have a broad base of local and federal government contacts. This role will report to the Washington-based Immigration Editor.
