Job Description

Reuters is looking for someone with superb organizational skills who can support our world-class journalism operation in Paris. We have a large team providing round-the clock news, video and photographs to a global audience. It's a complex and fast-moving operation, and the news assistant will play an integral part. They will be expected to provide administrative support to the Paris bureau chief and the leaders of the video and photo teams. They will deal with contractors and suppliers, handle invoices, provide logistical support help to our journalists in the team, and liaise between the team in Paris and colleagues providing operational support elsewhere in Reuters. The successful candidate will share in the excitement of producing real-time journalism, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing they played a crucial role in making it happen.

Essential day-to-day responsibilities:

Provide administration support to Reuters news operation in France and Benelux

Work closely with Paris bureau chief and team leaders for TV and photos

Give logistical support to journalists on the ground

Take responsibility for dealing with suppliers, handling invoices

Handle paperwork relating to freelance journalists

Liaise with Reuters global operational support team

Required skills and experience:

Must have proven organizational and problem-solving skills

Should be resourceful, creative, and able to take initiative

Ability to work under time pressure

Should be able to speak and write in French and English

Experience in an international company an advantage

Familiarity with media organisations an advantage

Should be flexible and willing to adapt to new challenges
