ABOUT THE ROLE

Thomson Reuters Enterprise Technology & Operations is looking to hire a highly motivated and energetic individual interested in advancing their career in Finance. The position will form part of a team who are key participants in providing value-added analysis and reporting to the F&R Technology management team. The opportunity will provide exposure at the highest levels of the F&R Technology management team and build expertise in a broad range of compelling areas.

Enterprise Technology & Operations brings together our technology development and operations, content technology, operations centers and transformation. F&R Technology consists of approx. 3,500 employees who are located across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE:

Key member of the F&R Technology finance team to directly support the Desktop & Platform technology team within the Enterprise Technology & Operations group.

The role is responsible for providing high quality business support and strategic financial planning and analysis to the business leaders and their management teams.

Key aspects of the role are as follows:

Cross business engagement with Financial & Risk stakeholders, Corporate functions and the wider ET&O team

Providing coaching and support to our team of financial analysts to support these areas of the business. Initially this role will be an individual contributor; the expectation is that one or more analysts will become direct reports starting within 6 months

Tracking costs/savings across key product and infrastructure shutdowns or simplifications, producing financial plans and working closely with teams to agree planning assumptions.

Monthly variance analysis, reporting and forecasting to both central F&R\

Technology finance and senior management for P&L, Capex and headcount

Driving, reviewing and influencing technology investments to ensure they are the best value for the company

Support business cases for new initiatives with a benefit recognition to the overall company

Manage and collaborate on key pan-ET&O projects including the Toronto Technology Center build out

Ability to represent ET&O and F&R Technology as the senior finance person on site

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Detail oriented with exceptional organizational/analytical skills

Experience working with business leaders in a diverse, complex environment

Strong financial modeling and analytical skills

Proactive approach to managing multiple deliverables and dependencies across internal functions and geographic locations

Strong presentation skills

Ability to analyse complex data and communicate effectively to a broad range of stakeholders

Strong organisation skills and ability to work under time pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and influence multiple levels of management and finance

Ability to build and maintain relationships with other groups within ET&O, F&R and the wider finance organization

QUALIFICATIONS

Accounting/Finance degree, CPA or MBA preferred

7 years of post qualification work experience preferred

Technology finance experience preferred
