The Client Specialist is a client-facing role which supports our financial clients who use Thomson Reuters solutions. Through a combination of financial market knowledge, product knowledge and client-management skills, the Client Specialist partners with Sales teams to solve specific client needs and works directly with customers to enable and strengthen their use of Thomson Reuters products. The Client Specialist works in a fast-paced environment at the forefront of the latest developments in market data and technology and collaborates closely with Thomson Reuters Sales, Account Management, Content, Product Management, Development and other business units to deliver unparalleled service to our clients.

Responsibilities:

A high level of client interaction is required. Client Specialists are expected to spend the majority of their time interacting with clients on-site or via remote sessions and sharing client feedback with the Account Teams and Product/Content Management. Client Specialist activity is primarily focused on increasing the retention rate of their assigned accounts although they are also strongly encouraged to look for new opportunities to sell Thomson Reuters products or up sell existing clients. Some of the day to day Client Specialist responsibilities are as follows;

  • Be the main point of contact for an accounts' installed products and ensure each client is optimally using Thomson Reuters desktop.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with influential site contacts at client organizations for increased customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze clients' current usage of Thomson Reuters products and suggest "best practices"
  • Act as primary conduit for bringing client feedback and enhancement/data requests into the Thomson Reuters organization to influence product evolution toward best meeting client needs.
  • Understand and be aware of your client's day-to-day requirements and the tools they use
  • Identify and qualify sales leads and opportunities; work with Sales Specialists to build upon existing opportunities within their customer base
  • Leverage knowledge of clients' use of products, future service needs, and competitive situations in work with Account Management teams to protect and ultimately grow revenue.
  • Collaborate with other Thomson Reuters departments to ensure joined-up service experience.

  • § At least two years of experience interacting with financial professionals
  • § Specialized financial market knowledge
  • § Good knowledge of customer business needs and workflows
  • § Excellent listening and communication skills
  • § Ability to create and develop relationships.
  • § Continuous self-learner who keeps abreast of market developments, content and technology.
  • § Self motivated and able to work well with team members and others throughout the organization
  • § Organized and able to methodically manage a portfolio of clients
  • § Experience working in the financial industry in sales/trading, banking, research, asset management or back office a plus.

Education

Undergraduate degree required.

CFA candidates or designation holders or MBA and other advanced degrees are a plus.
