We are looking for a savvy journalist to source and write for our independent Workforce news service that focuses on topical and emerging employment and industrial relations issues in Australia. This is a full time role based in Melbourne or Sydney.
In this role you will work as part of incisive and talented specialist reporting team writing high-quality articles. You'll be interested in breaking stories and analysing what they mean for busy professionals ahead of tight deadlines. It may suit an experienced professional in the industry with superior writing skills.
You will assist the editor and managing editor in ensuring the news service covers all significant specialist topics.
To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experience:
- Journalism degree or successful completion of cadetship
- Knowledge of industrial relations & employment law
- Previous experience covering a specialist round
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Superior reporting skills and well-developed sub-editing skills will be highly regarded.
