Business Development Manager, Risk-F&R
"This role sits within our Financial & Risk ("F&R") business. On January 30, 2018, Thomson Reuters announced that it signed a definitive agreement to enter into a strategic partnership with private equity funds managed by Blackstone related to the company's F&R business. As part of the transaction, Thomson Reuters has agreed to sell a 55% majority stake in Financial & Risk and will retain a 45% interest in the business. Thomson Reuters will maintain full ownership of its Legal, Tax & Accounting and the Reuters News businesses. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of the year and is subject to specified regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. When the transaction closes, this role will be included in the new F&R entity. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute against strategic account plans.
Product Sales: Drive product sales for all Risk products and services within an assigned territory or set of named accounts.
Client Relationships: Gains customer acceptance by explaining Risk value propositions. Leverage knowledge of industry challenges and opportunities to build trust and respect with current and future customers.
Cross-Team Coordination: Serves as a critical team member of Risk sales. Collaborate with multiple specialists, sales engineers, and customers at one time.
Forecasting and Reporting: Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and reports to inform management's strategic decision-making.
Required Skills and Experience:
Sales Background: More than 5 years in a sales or client service organisation.
Industry Knowledge: More than 5 years experience working in a team selling environment. Deep understanding of Risk proposition strongly desired.
Independent Worker: Ability to deliver results while working in a highly independent and fast-paced team environment.
Business Acumen: Proficient at uncovering key business issues and providing insightful, actionable recommendations for improvement.
Communication: Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Strong written and spoken ability in English and Japanese a must.
