Why This Role Matters

The Washington Post is seeking an experienced sales professional with digital expertise and strong strategic selling skills to join our International Sales team. Based in London, you will play a critical role in expanding The Post's client relationships across Europe and Asia. The successful candidate will bring an entrepreneurial approach to growing their sales territory, a deep understanding of client business needs, and a proven track record of acquiring new business and sustaining partnerships. This role is key to advancing The Post's international growth and strengthening its reputation as a trusted global media partner.

  • Drive revenue growth by developing and closing commercial partnerships with clients and agencies across Europe and Asia.
  • Expand The Washington Post's international reach by managing a network of third-party rep houses throughout Asia.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders to uncover business needs and deliver customized, high-impact advertising solutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle - from prospecting and acquiring new business to retaining and growing existing accounts - to achieve sustained revenue growth.
  • Communicate and report clear sales plans, progress, and outcomes to ensure accountability and alignment with team objectives.
  • Deliver incremental and retained revenue by developing proposals that integrate digital display, content, and partnership programs.
  • Create and implement a strategic business development and marketing plan to expand your portfolio and open new markets.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of client solutions that drive satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Represent The Washington Post at industry and client events to enhance brand visibility and strengthen relationships.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to anticipate client needs and position The Post as a market leader.
The Skills and Experience You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience in media sales with a strong focus on digital.
  • Demonstrated success selling digital display, content, and partnership programs.
  • Deep relationships with international advertising agencies and client stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and in-person sales skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to client locations across Europe and Asia.
  • Strategic approach to building a diverse, sustainable client portfolio.
  • Entrepreneurial approach with a focus on new business development and prospecting.
  • Professional, goal-oriented work ethic and ability to sell ideas to senior stakeholders.
