Accounting Specialist / Circulation Billing Specialist

The Washington Post is seeking an experienced Circulation Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a multi-tasker, adaptable to change and work well both independently as well as part of a team. If you have a passion for problem-solving, please apply.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process daily billing for Subscribers
  • Process weekly billing for Corporate accounts and agents
  • Analyze and enter data in billing systems
  • Research billing and pricing discrepancies
  • Answering inbound emails and phone calls for subscriber billing requests and problems
  • Knowledge of the Circulation billing processes and policies
  • Research and assist on financial reconciliations
  • Research and process financial adjustments and refunds
  • Strong skills in communicating effectively with external and internal customers
  • Adhere to company policies
  • Participate in the assessment of team operations and the rotation of shared responsibilities
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements include:

  • Commitment to excellence in billing and customer service;
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers in a professional manner;
  • Ability to work closely with the sales and service teams to ensure billing is correct;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to consistent changes in the work environment
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to analyze and detect issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • 3-5 years' experience with Subscription Billing preferred
