Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently recruiting for a field based Technical Sales Specialist, Gene Synthesis and Cloning (TSS GSC). The successful candidate will have the ability to establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and life science customers, to position and sell relevant products/services across customer applications

The TSS will be the primary driver of business development at assigned major customer call points to penetrate and grow current as well as new business. Being recognized as a technical leader within the sales force that drives strategic objectives and adoption of newly developed products.
Success will be achieved by bringing value and applying life science portfolio knowledge to propose the most suitable complete technical solution for our customers, achieving shared sales targets and quotas in the process.
This is a field-based sales role with a territory covering the central BLX region: visiting customers in person, c.4 days per week, with some overnight stays required otherwise, the role is home office.
Major Responsibilities
This individual's responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following specific responsibilities. The TSS GSC Team is a technical, happy and inclusive team of highly motivated super specialists:
- To identify sales opportunities with both new and existing customers to successfully lead the sales of GSC
- Demonstrate clear product/technology expertise to serve as the field-based authority in GSC
- Participate in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns, and special projects to develop appropriate selling skills
- Work across our sales teams to actively identify and close new sales opportunities: working as one coherent commercial team
- Co-ordinate quotations within Company Guidelines by extending pricing as needed to protect and grow revenues within the strategy formulated by Management and/or Marketing
- Run and close sales leads generated by colleagues in Marketing and Technical Support
- Demonstrate use of selling skills in the field, such as making good opening statements, connecting with the customer, asking high gain questions, demonstrating the value proposition and closing: can demonstrate solution and large opportunity selling skills.
- Develop presentations and customer proposals including structuring appropriate pricing and contract achievements.
- Set-up and coordinate technical product presentations by and / or with internal customers such as Research & Development, Marketing, other Sales Specialists and / or Field Application Scientists either on customer site or locally
Essential Skills & Technical Requirements
- Communicates optimally, and is the 'connector' within the large matrix between customer, field application specialists, commercial sales team, product management, different sales teams, support, service, marketing, executive, and other salient groups to develop business
- Maintain and increase current customer database through company customer relations management software.
- Prior sales experience, preferably in Life Science industry OR scientific research experience coupled with a genuine desire to work in a technical sales role
- Ability to structure / manage time and to prioritize completion tasks
- A high degree of flexibility in an evolving business environment
- Digital proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or similar programs required
- Provide regular accounts of successes, failures, standard processes etc to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team, region and sales organization, both oral and written
- Contact and return calls to research scientists and management contacts at all accounts for sales presentations, information through telephone, video conference software, e-mail or personal visits daily
- A positive demeanor and desire to succeed. Team spirited with a passion to succeed
- Field travel as vital (75% or more), therefore a valid driving licence is needed
- Requires a minimum Master's Degree in Cell Biology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and industry/functional experience.

Key Relationships
Reports to: Manager, TSS Manager, GSC for EMEA and maintains relationships with Marketing for Molecular Biology
Experience Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced sales person that can navigate a diverse range of accounts across segments within the BLX geographic territory.
They must be highly proficient in sales and be able to lead multiple high value, long sales cycle business opportunities simultaneously. This requires a high level of motivation and energy level to develop new business opportunities.
It is essential to be fluent in English. Other languages such as Dutch Or French is desireable. Other additional languages would be an asset!
