What Will You Do?

The Account Manager will be responsible to grow revenue through new business and leading within the respective territory in the Midwest - IA, KS, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD. The product line responsibility includes Toxicology (Drugs of Abuse products), Capital Equipment, MAS Clinical Chemistry Controls, AcroMetrix Molecular Controls, ISD/TDM's product lines, and BioMarkers.

Summary of Job Functions:

  • Responsible for direct sales of the company's products into a specified geographic area and optimally lead all stages of sales cycle.
  • Apply experienced understanding of Professional, Consultative, and Strategic Selling skills to develop incremental business in existing accounts and conduct cold calls to develop new accounts.
  • Develops a business plan for each major account; monitors and reports progress regularly and updates Sales Manager of results.
  • Collaborate with distribution channels that support the business in addition to direct sales.
  • Establish customer pricing within defined ranges, providing price quotations, and prepare bid documents, processes specifications, progress, and other reports.
  • Maintain positive relationships with business unit personnel for service and/or technical support, marketing and client/customer purchasing agents.
  • Responsible for the forecasting and the projection of sales from new and existing customers for both reagents and instruments.
  • Attend various trade shows and assist with booth staffing at regional and national conferences.
  • Work extensively with SFDC (Salesforce.com) CRM to handle customer account base and Qualify sales leads, answer inquiries, and maintain accurate records of activities using approved CRM software (Salesforce).
  • Communicate and interact on a frequent basis with Sales Managers, Field Service, Customer Service, Marketing, and Finance.

How Will You Get There?

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience in sales preferred with a high school diploma minimally required.
  • Minimum 3 years successful role in field sales preferred. Experience in the laboratory diagnostic market or hospital space strongly preferred.
  • Experience in working with GPO's and Hospital Supply Chain preferred.
  • Consistent track record of success in current sales position.
  • Self motivation to plan and implement activities with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must provide detailed and timely reporting.
  • SalesForce.com experience, a plus.
  • Must be proficient with MS office programs.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50 -75% of the time without limitation
