About the Role

Are you looking for an entry level position in Engineering Project Management? Join the Engineering Project Delivery Division of the Engineering Department as a Portfolio Manager. As a Portfolio Manager, the successful candidate will assist the Engineer of Projects and other Engineering Department Senior Staff in the management and oversight of the Aviation Portfolio of Projects. This position is located at 4 World Trade Center.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Engineer of Projects on project performance regarding compliance with schedule milestones and budget.
  • Prepare project proposals, inclusive of schedule, scope and staff budget, in coordination with all Engineering Team staff assigned to the projects
  • Assist the Engineer of Projects in the preparation of high-level presentations to Aviation Department partners and Engineering Senior Staff
  • Prepare financial reports depicting cost performance on projects
  • Develop project plans and summaries, inclusive of scope, schedule, and budget, to support project approvals with Agency leaders
  • Lead meetings with Engineering staff to discuss and troubleshoot project issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in progressively more responsible positions in the development and delivery of A/E projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, including the monitoring and reporting of cost forecasts against budgets and the management of project schedules.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize work.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey anticipates that the actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on aspects such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal factors. The expected compensation range for this role is:

Minimum: $97,318 Midpoint: $126,522 Maximum: $155,714

In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits employees to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business, and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required on business needs.
