The Muse is looking for an innovative and passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our team. You’ll help design, build, and manage the software products behind The Muse, working with our team of engineers, product managers and designers to help us create a better experience for the millions of users who come to The Muse for company research and career advice.
How you'll make an impact
- You’ll think deeply about software systems — their users, APIs, edge cases, and failure modes to craft robust products that meet user requirements while utilizing best-of-breed solutions and tools whenever possible
- You’ll work closely with product owners to design and develop software solutions that delight our end users, while making these systems observable, reliable and deployable for us to maintain
- You’ll offer mentorship and guidance to your teammates on the best ways to design and implement solutions across all of our products
- You'll be an experienced voice that helps define our systems architecture, technology stack and technology roadmap
Why we'll love you
- You design, build and deploy scalable, maintainable software systems
- You decompose services into their concerns, i.e., performance, reliability, security, scalability, usability, and compliance
- You have experience designing, developing and debugging distributed systems and microservices, and a deep understanding of web protocols
- You are a highly skilled and independent developer, but comfortable collaborating with others in an agile environment
- You are well-versed in working in the cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), and very comfortable working with containers such as Docker
- You have 4-5 years of experience as an Back-End Engineer
