Product Development Associate, Hair Care

The Honest Company is expanding our Product Development team! We’re looking for a detail-oriented project manager to coordinate the overall development process of our hair care products for The Honest Company and Honest Beauty. As an associate in the R&D department, you’ll manage project timelines and execution against the product pipeline and support the development process from ideation to launch. This includes outlining, developing and validating ideas, researching vendors, and collaborating with suppliers to bring the products to market. This job is perfect for you if you’re an exceptional problem solver with a scientific background and a passion for safe, eco-friendly hair care.

What you’ll do:

  • Keep projects on track, ensuring on-time launches of hair care products
  • Drive product timelines towards launch deadlines, engaging in proactive communication with key cross functional members to ensure successful launch activities
  • Understand and execute on regulatory rules around new product category launch
  • Liaise between technical R&D team members and marketing team
  • Manage safety and claims support testing
  • Evaluate prototypes and deliver feedback to drive accurate product development 
  • Research and vet vendors and manufacturers
  • Manage supplier relationships throughout the development process, from prototyping through  production

 What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (chemistry, biology or other hard science/STEM degree preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cross-functional projects, develop processes, and manage a high volume of projects
  • Ability to motivate and influence cross-functional groups and stakeholders across the organization
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Understanding of consumer insights
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • Proficiency with MS Office
