The Boeing Company is seeking a senior leader and software developer supporting IT solutions for the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft.

The V-22 Osprey is a joint service multirole combat aircraft utilizing tiltrotor technology to combine the vertical performance of a helicopter with the speed and range of a fixed-wing aircraft. With its rotors in vertical position, it can take off, land and hover like a helicopter. Once airborne, it can convert to a turboprop airplane capable of high-speed, high-altitude flight.

We are looking for a technical and pragmatic software developer to lead teams in the delivery of the V-22 Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).

You are expected to lead teams of developers, design, code, and test multiple software programs of various technologies. Current projects include modernization and security upgrades. Your work will directly impact aircraft safety. This team is located in Ridley Park, PA. Do you enjoy a flexible work environment? You can work hybrid (in-person/virtual) and a 9/80 work schedule.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options (Ridley Park, PA, USA).

Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads software development teams in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, Bitbucket, GitHub, SonarQube, Fortify, Jenkins)
  • Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs
  • Acts as advisor to management and V-22 customers on advanced technical research, user requirements and software solutions
  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
  • Develops advanced technical ideas and guides teams in their development into final products
  • Initiates assignments, determines and pursues courses of action necessary to meet customer schedules

You should have:
  • Knowledge of the full stack; knowledgeable in front-end, back-end, server, hardware, network, and database layers
  • Experience in Agile, defining user stories and maintaining product backlog
  • Experience facilitating communication and information exchange between software developers, management, and customers alike
  • Interpersonal skills; collaboration, communication, critical thinking, multitasking, adaptability, and leadership

Export Control: The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylum

Typical Education/Experience: Technical bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relocation: This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift: This Position is for 1st shift.

Salary Range: $143,650-$194,350
