Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Testing Analyst (Level 4) to join our team in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.

This position resides in the Vertical Lift Composite Materials and Processes Lab and supports the evaluation of parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications. Familiarity and experience in conducting various mechanical tests on composite materials and adhesives is required. This is a hands-on role and requires the incumbent to test coupons/parts and measure the results.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Tests performed in accordance with industry standards (i.e. American Society for Testing and Material (ASTM) or Boeing Standards and Specifications)â€< include tensile, compression, short-beam shear, Âflatwise tension, thick-adherend lap shear (both composite and metal adherends), flexure, core shear, bearing, peel, rail shear, double cantilever beam, and others
  • Conducts system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown. Conducts tests, analyzes data and documents results
  • Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problems
  • Coordinates test laboratory activities and maintenance and repairs
  • Coordinates the purchase of new test equipment, fixtures, and tools
  • Coaches and trains others
  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.ÂÂ

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 8+ years of experience working in a laboratory test environment
  • 8+ years of experience doing mechanical testing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Associate's Degree or higher
  • 8+ years of experience with testing of composite materials and plastics

Typical Education/Experience:Â

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).
