Boeing Information Technology Network Infrastructure Services is currently looking for a Senior Network Designer to join their team in El Segundo, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) business organization.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with IT Business Success Leaders and BDS stakeholders to implement and maintain communications and network systems enabling the BDS business to meet their organizational and program goals.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Determines strategic requirements for network designs. Provides strategic input on architectural designs, network technology products and services and the integration and coordination of regional and enterprise wide multi-technology products and services.
  • Uses program plans and technical research to recommend technological applications to accomplish long-range objectives.
  • Individual will act as a senior network architect to assess program requirements and integrate activities of other employees to accomplish program objectives.
  • Responsible to manage the scope of work for program activities and interaction with connected sites and partners.
  • Project management for multiple activities and prioritization as necessary. Identify resources needed for successful accomplishment.
  • Duties include: Oversight and collaboration to accomplish Network Design, equipment procurement, equipment configuration and installation, cable and wire design and implementation, network break-fix, security plan integration, equipment decommission and surplus, capital/expense planning to ensure that the programs have a secure communications network to perform program development and execution In support of program customer.
  • Includes, but not limited to, hardware and software support to Secure Network, Secure Voice and other non-standard system integration.
  • Includes support to security activities such as US government Risk Management Framework (RMF) Compliance, Security Evaluation Checklists, device sanitization, contamination cleanup, and support to the management of System Security Plans.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders and peers
  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
  • Acts as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team. Capable of effectively triaging and de-escalating issues with impacted parties
  • Some travel to remote sites required (approx. 10%)
  • Develops and executes project and process plans and implements policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates the Boeing Seek, Speak and Listen behaviors in a deliberate and observable way

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and IOS
  • 10+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of LAN and WAN Networks
  • 10+ years of experience with TCP/IP Network Protocols
  • 10+ years of experience with COMSEC encryption devices

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems
  • Previous team leadership experience
  • Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 certification (Security+ preferred)
  • CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification
  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance; with a full-scope polygraph examination

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience, 24 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Salary Range: $172,550 - $233,450

To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
