Boeing is currently hiring for a MQ-25 Platform Systems Senior Project Engineer located in Berkeley, MO.

The MQ-25 Stingray is a new autonomous, unmanned carrier based refueling air vehicle. The MQ-25 program is currently working the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) of Seven (7) flight vehicles and two full-scale test articles for the Navy. Additional work is under way for the beginning of the Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) program for an additional twelve (12) flight vehicles.

The Platform Systems team is responsible for the electrical and mechanical systems for the MQ-25. The Platform Systems team works closely with the Air Frame, Flight, Production, Test and other teams to integrate across the Air Vehicle and manage the Air Vehicle processes.

This role would report to the Platform Systems Senior Manager. The near-term responsibility for this role would be to lead and coordinate the Platform Systems LRIP program contracts, including the Platform Systems LRIP proposal effort. Additional responsibilities would include supporting updates to the Air Vehicle and Platform Systems processes, managing handoffs and complex integration projects, developing and tracking team metrics, and working to ensure requirements and needs are well communicated across the team.

Position will coordinate and lead execution of MQ-25 Platform Systems LRIP and Advanced MQ-25 work scope and coordinate proposal effort for future capture of LRIP and Advance MQ-25 business.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Platform Systems LRIP proposal strategy and inputs
  • Facilitate execution and coordination of pre-LRIP contract activates (Long Lead Material & Production Readiness Reviews)
  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex projects and initiatives in the MQ-25 Platform Systems team
  • Leads Resolution of critical cross-functional technical issues
  • Evaluates needs and requirements from other MQ-25 teams and coordinates interfaces with the MQ-25 Platform Systems team
  • Performs various analyses to optimize MQ-25 Platform Systems processes and tools
  • Creates and monitors metrics for Platform Systems team performance
  • Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering or science related field
  • 5+ years' experience working with and/or coordinating across engineering disciplines to identify best practices and implement on multiple programs
  • 5+years' experience leading a team or a project

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • 3+ years' experience working with Military or DoD customers
  • Experience working on military aircraft
  • Experience with Estimating and Proposal Support

Typical Education/Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for Senior Level: $114,750 - $155,250

Summary pay range for Lead Level: $140,250 - $189,750
