Boeing Global Services is currently looking for an Experienced Interceptor Production Technician to support the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) Program at Vandenberg SFB, CA.

The GMD System is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks. This Technician will implement scope execution for production and test activities of upgraded and new interceptors being performed at Vandenberg SFB and Fort Greely, AK. Candidate may be required to travel domestically 25% of the time as well as work overtime as needed. A successful candidate will understand the importance of safety and first pass quality in all operations as well as collaboration and partnership.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to accurate failures or implement changes
  • Assisting with performing test and maintenance procedures that support missile ground processing
  • Works on and around ordnance, after company provided training and certification has been completed
  • Assists with assembly, disassembly or overhaul
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment
  • Solves problems sophisticated pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements
  • Oversees training
  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Vandenberg SFB, CA.

This position requires an active Interim U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with maintenance, production, or integration and testing of spacecraft, missile or aircraft systems
  • Able and willing to travel domestically 25%
  • Must be willing and able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, travel in a silo basket (Maximum load capacity of 275 lbs.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working on the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) System
  • Experience working with ordnance/rocket motors
  • Ability to operate a Forklift, truck mounted crane, and other associated equipment
  • Valid commercial driver's license

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range: 63,750-86,250
