Experienced Electrical Power Systems Design Engineer, Puget Sound area

Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking an Electrical Power Systems Design Engineer Level 3in the Puget Sound area in support of Phantom Works programs. Boeing Phantom Works creates the next generation products and services for the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Phantom Works focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Summary:

The position will be support design, development, and integration of the electrical power system for a space application. The position provides an opportunity work with an experienced, interdisciplinary team to develop unique systems to meet challenging requirements on a dynamic development program.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Works under supervision to develop and document complex avionics, electronic and electrical system requirements/architectures
  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Supports trade studies, analyzes results, and performs design reviews
  • Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., power, harness routing and payloads)
  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Delivers electrical sub-system components and supports integration
  • Conducts tests and validates electrical system to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Must possess good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Must have demonstrated a strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments
  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events

This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Must have a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Electrical Engineering degree preferred
  • Electrical power systems experience
  • Space-related product / program experience (i.e. satellites, spacecraft, missile systems, etc.)

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
