Senior Quality Control Analyst

Job Description

The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 9 million members and customers across 11 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation and is the second largest AAA club in North America.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as a team member on a system testing team that works with one or more business/development units on small to large software projects. Analyzes business requirements, identifies test conditions and develops test cases with expected results that are approved by respective business units. Executes manual and automated test cases, validates results and provides accountability t business units for accuracy and thoroughness of system testing and software certification tasks. Coordinates functional testing efforts with project team and develops work plan estimates for moderately complex tasks to ensure work efforts are accomplished within time estimates. Identifies and documents defects in compliance with established procedures.

Assists lead staff and/or management with the development of quality control standards and test plans. Adheres to and supports all Auto Club Group Quality Control standards, policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Related Technology Certification or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience in/with:
  • An insurance environment
  • Testing applications on multiple platforms
  • Testing, working with or evaluating third party vendor packages
  • Automated testing tools, methodologies and defect tracking systems

Knowledge of:
  • IT Governance and Compliance
  • IT Audits - internal and external
  • IT Policies and Procedures documentation
  • IT Processes, such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management


Work Environment:

Works in a temperature-controlled office environment. May be required to work overtime or weekends to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • College level Coursework or formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Quality Assurance or related field.


Experience:

  • Using unique software applications to sell/service end products
  • Using common software applications (i.e. Word, excel, access) in a structured business environment
  • Identifying, researching and resolving business problems
  • Developing reusable documentation


Knowledge and Skills:

  • System development methodologies
  • Industry technology standards
  • Testing tools, techniques and methodologies
  • Structured quality control standards, procedures and test processes
  • Recognize, comprehend and analyze problems and formulate solutions
  • Take the initiative to explore alternative approaches to problems, tasks or existing processes
  • Quickly learn new processes and master testing tools
  • Wok overtime evenings/weekend when required to meet project deadlines
  • Communicate clearly about technical topics
