Applications Engineer- The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
The Auto Club Group is seeking prospective Applications Engineer who is responsible for serving as a team member in planning, designing, developing, implementing, and/or supporting moderately complex new or revised processes or systems.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop system specifications, prototypes, and all levels of documentation (e.g.; structure charts, screen designs, data flow diagrams, file layouts, report layouts, and job run descriptions) in accordance with IS standards.
- Responsible for the timely completion and quality of assigned deliverables and strives to achieve service level objectives.
- Acquire an understanding of user requirements and prepares activity and progress reports for project tasks.
- Develop estimates for project tasks and identifies potential impacts to project and recommends alternative solutions.

We're looking for candidates who:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent level of work experience.
- Designing, developing, implementing or supporting moderately complex information systems
- Identifying, analyzing and resolving business problems
- Building or supporting mainframe, distributed systems or web based systems
- Database design and/or modeling
- User interface design
- Web applications or mainframe
- Mainframe, distributed, and/or Web-based system design and development
- Programming languages (e.g., COBOL II, JAVA)
- Operating systems (e.g., MVS, Windows XP, UNIX)
- Database management systems (e.g., IMS DB, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Online communication (e.g., IMS DC, CICS)
- System development tools (Endevor, IMS Expert, Xpediter, SQA Team Test, Eclipse, JAVA)
- PC fundamental tools (MS Office)
- Systems operation practices
- Security and control procedures
- Structured systems analysis, design, programming and testing
- Iterative and rapid programming concepts
- 'use case' requirements analysis
