Director, Energy Solutions Structuring

Position Summary:
The Director, Structuring provides overall analytical and deal structuring support for Energy Solutions ensuring the measurement of the value and risk of proposed complex deals were appropriate.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Research, analytics and pricing for full-requirements deals supplied by Tenaska-owned or controlled generating assets including load forecasting or direction of consultants or affiliates providing services for such valuation
  • Valuation and pricing of embedded options within the Tenaska portfolio when offered for sale or swap including valuation of counteroffers
  • Valuation and pricing of embedded options in 3 rd party portfolios when such assets are considered as part of an overall solutions transactions
  • Provide commercial acumen in the power markets earning trust in Tenaska Marketing Group and TINC management and the Energy Solutions origination team
  • Comfortable with using and/or directing the use of analytics related to structured products transactions

Required Experience Education/Experience/Skills
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, engineering, statistics, or finance
  • 5-10 years of experience and proven success in power product trading and structuring, strong understanding of option product valuation, basic knowledge of ERCOT,MISO-S,SPP-S and SERC
  • Previous requirements products valuation including load forecasting required
  • Strong work ethic, team attitude, and willingness to work extended hours as workload requires
Preferred Requirements:
  • MBA or advanced degree in a related area
  • Strong skills in creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets
  • Ability to assist in closing large transactions
  • Ability and desire to build business-based relationships
  • Enthusiasm for developing relationships to aid recruiting and opportunity prospecting
  • Demonstrated track record of tenacity and resilience in a business where change and/or rejection are commonplace
  • Comfort with unstructured work environment where you own the results of your efforts
  • Highly sensitive customer service skills
