TE Connectivity's Shipping & Receiving Teams perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. They use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting incoming and outgoing shipments. They follow shipping practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules and requirements. The Shipping & Receiving Teams receive incoming materials and prepare materials for shipment. They process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. They also route merchandise to destinations.

Warehouse Team Leader
Industrial & Commercial Transportation
The Industrial & Commercial Transportation (ICT) business unit of TE Connectivity has a Team Leader opportunity for the Picking and Packing area in Kettering, OH. This position will report to the Logistics Supervisor of the Transportation Solutions ICT LADD Distribution business unit.
In this exciting role you will be responsible for leading day to day operations of the Picking area to ensure high quality and on-time delivery of electronic connectors to customers. The Team Leader will act as a working team leader, carrying out daily requirements which include, planning and scheduling of workload and workflow, effective utilization of team members, equipment, materials and time within business requirements, safety, cost and quality standards. This position is responsible for maintaining safety records, employee training and scheduling and meeting all goals (productivity, delivery, cost, quality and safety). In addition to Team Leader responsibilities, this position will perform material handling duties in the Pick area approximately 70% of time.
• Team Leader ~ 60% of Time
o Leads day to day activities in the Picking area, with a focus on improving Safety, TEOA, Productivity, On Time Delivery, Quality and Employee Engagement.
o Directs, assigns, instructs and assists Warehouse employees and temporary workers in the Picking area.
o Keep Logistics Supervisor informed of performance, process improvements, team member relations and unusual or anticipated problems.
o Acts as TEOA advocate for warehouse, actively supporting and driving continuous improvements and employee inclusion. Lead daily GO meeting.
o Drives open and positive communication through formal and informal networks to foster employee engagement and acceptance/belonging of LADD as a TE company.
o Holds employees accountable for performance results and behavior aligning with TE Values.
o Responds to employee grievances and ensures that quality and safety standards are maintained.
o Discuss employee performance issues with immediate supervisor/manager and administer company policies, programs and other related areas requiring guidance as needed.
o Act as liaison to resolve discrepancies and exceptions between Pick area and other departments, including Kitting, Receiving, Quality, Customer Service and Purchasing.
• Material Handler ~ 40% of Time
o Follow standard work orders to pick and pack product to fill customer orders.
o Utilize scales or manual counts to accurately fulfill order.
o Input inventory transaction data into computer.
o Shipment of material; domestic and international processes.
o Running cycle counts and inventory audits.
o Reconcile material availability discrepancies.
o Flexibility to support multiple duties of overall warehouse responsibilities.
o Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities.
