Job Overview
The Data & Devices business unit is looking for a motivated Product Development Engineer to lead the development and creation of the high-speed data test and measurement system for our Active Optical Cable products. You will be part of a global team that owns the electrical design of cable assemblies to deliver the product performance that our customers expect from TE. You will work collaboratively across different engineering disciplines and cross-functionally to establish the site's high-speed test capabilities.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities:
• Lead the development & creation of high-speed test system development
• Develop and establish multi-channel high speed time domain test and measurement systems for data transmission up to 112Gbs per channel
• Developing & integrating automated/semi-automated test and measurement systems in an engineering environment for product verification and ongoing reliability assessments.
• Generate test plans and reports
• Create secure data repository/data base within an ATE environment

Required Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) - Mechanical Engineering, or Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree, Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in in testing high speed domain components
• Familiarity with Bit error rate testing, High Speed Oscilloscopes for eye diagrams, Eye Mask testing.
• Proven ability to generate test plans and reports
• Advanced experience with high-speed testing & signal conditioning
• Optical experience in testing transceiver or active optical cables a plus
• Familiarity with measurement system capability studies
• Experience with PAM4 signaling a plus
• Experience with C#, NI LabView, NI TestStand, and Embedded Firmware (C/C++) is a plus
• Experience with PCB design and fabrication is a plus
• Strong time management skills with a demonstrated ability to plan work in order to complete projects on-time and in scope.
• Fluent in English (verbal/written) with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a global environment - able to accommodate varying time zones and able to collaborate with individuals across multiple geographies
• Individual must be highly motivated, a quick learner, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
• Ability to travel globally between 10% - 25%
