Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Location : Hastings (Hybrid)

Shift pattern :

  • 6 am to 2 pm
  • 2 pm to 10 pm
  • 8:20 am to 5 pm

The Material planning analyst manages the daily/weekly/monthly work loads for CNC machines within the machine shop or mould shop.
You will work with the Planning Department to schedule jobs that are required for the various value streams and adjust as volumes and/or priorities change.

Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, you will be required to tactically manage the machine shop plan to ensure that delivery on time to schedule and request (where possible) is met. You will be required to follow the standard of work that supports the KPIs not only for the plant but for the business unit

  • Weekly scheduling on CNC machines through SAP in Machine Shop and Mold Shop to meet customer commit dates
  • Analysing the full demand profile and strategically, finite planning to maximise efficiency without compromising delivery on time.
  • Maximise the Machine Capacities and drive OEE improvements with department heads
  • Chairing a weekly meeting on Machine loads and accountable to making recommendations to manage machine loads based on customer commit dates
  • Able to influence and work with key departments, to ensure commitments are met at all levels
  • Responsible for setting up and managing capacity wheels, with help from Value stream Planners
  • Management and upkeep of MRP on SAP. Good experience of SAP and can maintain master data
  • Exception management
  • Monthly reporting on production order tolerances. Maintain and report on the departmental OTIF scores, driving actions through Pareto analysis
  • Responsible the scheduling and inventory of raw materials to support plan and meet customer commit dates
  • Provide key data to the Sourcing Team to help decision making on agreed parameters - MOQ, Pricing, Lead-time etc.
  • Provide production plans for the Plating plant and review daily to meet the expected outputs
  • Take parts in Tier 1. 2 and 3 meetings to drive process improvements and ensuring communication is clear at all levels of the business

What your background should look like:

  • GCSE or equivalent education
  • Experience in Supply Chain and/or materials planning / Scheduling
  • Extensive use of SAP is desirable
  • Computer literate; ability to use varying internal systems and knowledge of computerised MRP system
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail when under pressure.
  • Recommend best work practices and improvements to the appropriate persons.
  • Must be able to think creatively and logically and be able to work in detail without supervision.
  • Ability to problem solve is a key skill for this role.
  • Maintain customer service and negotiate delivery dates when needed.
