Job Overview

Trade compliance is critical to the success of TE Connectivity. Trade compliance impacts many functional areas, including import and traffic management, receiving, manufacturing, financial accounting, accounts payable, purchasing, engineering, customer service, sales, tax, government relations, and law. This wide range of involvement and complexity requires a coordinated and controlled environment. At TE, all employees have a shared and coordinated responsibility in implementing TE's Trade Compliance Policies.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a strategic trade compliance program for IND BU together with the TE Corporate Trade Compliance Function (GTS);
• Manage and resolve trade compliance issues in the region and implement corrective actions;
• Having oversight over the IND BU Trade Landscape in EMEA (monitor, audit, rapid response) and beyond EMEA;
• Assist local operations in the region by conducting training and developing documentation of processes and procedures;
• Be the focal point for trade compliance matters for IND BU Management;
• Develop and deliver training on trade compliance matters within the BU;
• First point of contact for any relevant government agency;
• Conduct risk-assessments within the IND facilities;
• Support IND Legal Entities in all customs- and trade related matters;

Qualifications:
• Minimum experience of 8 years in a customs/ trade compliance position with a strong background in Customs (Customs Brokerage, Origin, Valuation, Tariff Classification); ideally with a 3 years' experience in a similar EMEA role;
• Bachelor's Degree in international Trade, Business Administration or Law
• Experience in Customs- & Trade related matters in various countries in EMEA;
• Experience in cross-functional processes and working in a matrix reporting structure;
• Experience in mapping and documenting processes;
• Well-developed organizational, priority management and planning skills,
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
• Able to build consensus among groups;
• Self-starter;
• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
• Fluency in English language, one other "foreign" language would be a plus
• Computer literacy
