Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, General Managers are responsible for developing long-term objectives and strategic plans for a major division by identifying internal and external strategic issues that affect growth and profitability.

What your background should look like:

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the sound creation of the IND footprint strategic roadmap - under strong and close alignment with the VP Operations and the overall IND Business and Operations Strategy
  • Oversees the execution of the IND footprint strategy including migrations, integrations of acquired companies and plant shut downs by guiding a functional team of Transfer Project Managers

Supply Chain
  • Take the lead to complete Supply Chain Integration of acquired companies and drive SC Integration for future M&A

Warehouse & Logistics
  • Drive global, larger scale projects in the area of Warehouse & Logistics
  • Actively contribute to Freight costs optimization projects and drive Air to Ocean and air to rail solutions
  • Improve Freight Cost Data Transparency to be able to charge Freight costs to the right subunits

Manufacturing Operations
  • Lead in conjunctions with plant managers and other stakeholders manufacturing transformation road-maps to reach operational excellence and improved service levels (incl. automation)
  • Support major IND manufacturing sites in their transformation efforts (e. g. change of structure, processes, and layout in manufacturing plants) to reach Operational excellence
  • Leading the major transfer projects by supporting the sites involved and the key stakeholders to deliver transfers on time, at the cost expected with improved service levels. Especially, prepare the receiving site to be able for seamless transfers and production continuity
  • Define and implement automations plans of IND Plants to improve service while improving financial impact driving cost-out
  • Define and implement manufacturing and supply processes to optimize low volume/high mix production in key sites to achieve high flexibility (low MOQ/short lead-time) while maximizing financials
  • Develop operational plans to continuing maximizing the cost structure of our products while improving services (including collaborative robots, etc.)

Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
  • 6+ years experience in demonstrated process improvement success
  • 5+ years experience in utilizing OpEx, SixSigma and Lean tools/methodologies
  • 10+ years of management experience - Industrial industry is a MUST
  • Proven experience in low volume high mix production is a MUST
  • Strong analytical, strategic and tactical skills
  • Problem solving attitude. Exceptional skill at organizing and prioritizing tasks
  • Business Acumen - able to connect business needs and operational transformation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven experience in leading by influence
  • Strong team formation and leadership skills
  • Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels
  • Fast learner, able to quickly familiarize her/himself with existing methods and practices and new concepts/ideas
  • Fluent in English
