Job Description:

The Small Business Market Manager provides strategic leadership to promote Small Business customer relationship growth, drive and enhance Small Business results and partner product profitability across the markets while increasing shareholder value. This role promotes, creates, distributes and executes on all Small Business efforts to promote the banks Small Business strategy across all markets. The Small Business Market Manager directly manages the Small Business Specialists along with partnering to develop/maintain the Small Business Specialist strategy, develops/maintains the Small Business Specialist implementation plan, and executes the plan to deliver and improve the overall customer experience. The Small Business Market Manager promotes the consistent execution of Small Business related Corporate Sales Strategies, Programs and Practices; Community Reinvestment Act strategies that relate to Small Business, as well as the constant evaluation of such performance. This role plays an integral role in supporting and integrating business partners on the Executive level along with their teams to build relationships in an effort to deliver mutual success. This role acts as both a Small Business Direct Sales Manager executing Small Business strategies through both the Small Business Specialist and Retail teams. This role also provides Small Business leadership in the markets, accountable for communication, educating and ensuring appropriate alignment and execution of TD Bank, AMCB's forward looking vision. As a member of both the Corporate banking team and in a Leader in Small Business for each local Metro, this role assists with the execution of Small Business Sales strategies to enhance a best in class Small Business sales culture and performance.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Develops, Supports, Manages the Small Business Specialist strategy, leading a team of Small Business Specialists to develop/maintain Small Business relationships
  • Ensures Small Business and the Small Business Specialists provide support to the partner strategies and activities to ensure alignment of key priories and effective execution within the Small Business space
  • Promotes a positive customer experience, and executes various sales strategies to sustain/enhance the best in class customer experience and deliver profitable sales performance across the Region
  • Provides Small Business and related support to Retail partners supporting and assisting in the creation, coordination, and execution of effective Small Business sales campaigns, delivering and facilitating Small Business education with the retail teams, & promoting the Small Business retail strategy within the Region Meet or exceed Regional Small Business financial goals including business development practices (customer contact), sales (SR/Salesforce reporting), & customer experience (LEI) for all SB product lines
  • Promotes and supports all SB business development efforts across both Commercial and Retail banking teams, providing feedback and support on customer contact performance
  • Communicates and meets with Executive Level Market Leadership (RP, MP, RVP,RMM) regularly to review Small Business performance, develop strategies, outline challenges and highlight accomplishments in efforts to drive overall Small Business results
  • Identifies and communicates educational gaps to ensure continued development of sales talent
  • Identifies opportunities for business development and referrals, building awareness and sharing successes with regional management
  • Partners with Regional Presidents, Retail Market Presidents and Retail Market Managers/Regional Vice Presidents to carry forward sales orientation and achievement of goals
  • Attends and actively participates in Regional Leadership meetings as the sales strategy subject matter expert, bringing forward sales performance analytics and market research and delivering plans for solutions
  • Participates and represents region at corporate planning work sessions

Education & Experience:

  • 4 Year Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ Years of related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed marketing sales management goals
  • Commercial lending experience.
  • Strong partnering skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and desire to work with data to generate insights and actions
  • Demonstrated ability execute in the marketplace
