Contract Specialist

So what does a Contract Risk Specialist really do? Think of yourself as the one responsible for implementing an effective contract risk management function for client engagements at TaskUs in the Philippines and as needed in other locations, so not just anyone is qualified for this role. Now we need your full concentration because it’s time to imagine what it’s like being a Contract Risk Specialist.

Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: that you will implement contract governance framework to manage ongoing contract compliance and help identify areas of key risks.  As you tackle your new tasks for the day, you know that it comes down to one thing: that you will implement and deliver impactful contract management processes including contract awareness, policy compliance, contract risk management, and reporting, deliverables and obligations matrices, and management of intellectual property, fraud prevention, and data privacy interests.

As a Contract Risk Specialist, you will draft and review contracts. You will implement, monitor and update the contract management process. You will build significant relationships with service delivery and other internal departments as a representative of the legal team on risk management. You will monitor and provide regular reporting to the legal team and internal department stakeholders contract statuses and risk controls. You will actively participate in growth initiatives within the legal function. Please note that you will travel domestically (30% of the time) and internationally as needed to support the business requirements and legal department. Such travel may require extended stays (e.g., two weeks) at the location. Aside from this, your physical presence in TaskUs Philippines offices is expected. You should also have the flexibility to work or be available at unconventional hours or on the weekends to support global team objectives and meet urgent business needs.

So, do you have what it takes to become a Contract Risk Specialist?


So what exactly are we looking for? Well, we prefer someone who has an IACCM and CIPP/US certification. You must also be enthusiastic about solving contractual, commercial and operational issues. You must be highly analytical (with both words and numbers). You should also be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

What else? Well, we also need somebody who takes initiative and does whatever it takes to achieve objectives. Someone who demonstrates the ability to self-evaluate plus has a willingness to learn new skills and processes. We also need someone who facilitates mutually beneficial outcomes to satisfy various stakeholder/team interests. Somebody who has combined knowledge, curiosity, imagination, and evaluation to achieve desired results. Have a strong work ethic? Have impeccable organization? Creative problem solver? Then you’re what we need!

In terms of experience, a minimum of 2 years of drafting and negotiating outsourcing services agreements and MSA amendments, service level agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and statements of work is required. As well as a minimum of 2 years of delivering quality contract management methodologies, tools and techniques in a service delivery, legal or risk function is what we’re looking for.
